'Somewhere' can be read as it is, since the story will stand on its own. However, for the most enjoyment I recommend that you read Book 1, 'Neither Here Nor There', before this one. Book 3, ‘Elsewhere’, and book 4, ‘From Here to There’, follow this one and continue the exciting story.

I was really pleasantly surprised by the second book in the series by a new author. The characters suddenly sprang to life, questions were answered, and new directions taken. Wow! Book one was a lot of fun and included excellent exposition about halfway through. This one takes us to a brand new "circle" with a completely new environment, new creatures, and new intrigue. The author does a fine job of using the differences between the characters to help bring the reader into the "know" without falsely creating dialogue to explain situations and conflicts. Ivy is an incredible and strong character and the most compelling for me. I look forward to the rest of the series!
Here's what I'm enjoying about this series - things constantly change! Just when you think you understand the rules and what's going on, you are put back in your place because you don't "get it" yet. Book 1 took place in a totally different place than book 2 and there are a lot of new things to enjoy. The characters not only grow together but realize new things about themselves and never fail to surprise me (or themselves). It's very easy to read and isn't vulgar or full of adult content. Very recommended so stop wasting time reading reviews and read the book instead!

I loved this second book in the series. The characters are wonderfully lovable and the new world was extremely well described. There was plenty of twists and I ended up staying up way too late to finish this book! I can't wait to read book 3!
The second book in the series, you can tell the writer is more comfortable with the places and characters she has created.
This is a fun book to read I feel like it is very similar to other fantasy stories that I liked when I was younger.Sort of a serious version of the Piers Anthony Xanth series as far as style goes.
I read the first and second books in just a few days, which is quick for me. The characters and their worlds are so intriguing. I had to keep reading to find out what happens next. These books transported me to another place and I wanted to stay there.
